Welcome to the new old new D-LINC site!
News
25th of July, 2008:- Alright, I have my server back. It's now running glorious FreeBSD, so it should be extremely stable, etc, etc, blah, blah. I decided to take the opportunity to rewrite the about paragraphs to be less flowery, and, yes, I have finally realised that D-LINC has been inactive enough lately to enjoy somewhat of a "hiatus" status. I thoroughly intend to continue D-LINC, no matter what happens over the next year, or 10 years, or handful of reincarnation cycles... D-LINC is sleeping. And eventually it will awaken, maybe even with some half-decent music! --Matt
About D-LINC
D-LINC is a half-dead music project situated in Knaresborough, UK specialising presently in sequenced synthpop and electronica.
D-LINC, whose sole member as of July 2008 is Matt Windsor, was formed in late 2007 as "You Said Whatnot!", a MySpace account dedicated to the posting of music Matt made in LMMS. The name comes from the Revolution game "Beneath A Steel Sky" and refers to the lowest possible social status in the hierarchy of Union City.
The project is currently on indefinite semi-hiatus due to a general lack of drive, inspiration and MIDI cables. It is entirely Matt's intention to be back with a much better set of songs sometime in the near future, though. (The current set is a bit lacklustre in terms of composition, instrumentation and sound quality)
Influences
D-LINC is primarily influenced by the work of the legendary German electronic band Kraftwerk, but also officially counts the following among its influences:
- Depeche Mode
- Harold Faltermeyer
- Giorgio Moroder
- Jean-Michel Jarre
